AMD took the world by the storm with their release of the Ryzen processors, but on the GPU side their game hadn’t been the best. That changed when the red team launched the RX 5000 series graphics cards, and now, with the recent launch of the RX 6000 series, it’s pretty obvious that AMD has something amazing to offer for gamers, both aspiring and veteran. The new cards are nothing short of impressive, and go toe-to-toe with the best offerings from the green team, giving them a run for their money. And today, we’re gonna check out another high-end offering from the red team, the RX 6800 XT.

The Radeon RX 6800 XT is a beast of a GPU designed for gaming at 1440p and 4K at the highest settings. It comes with 72 Compute Units, 4608 Stream Processors, 16GB VRAM and a Boost Clock speed of up to 2250 MHz, making it a beefy card from AMD. And compared to the RX 6900 XT, it’s pretty light too.

The design of the reference 6800 XT is quite similar to the rest of the lineup, with a dual-slot triple fan design, and the Radeon logo sitting in the middle of the fans. But unlike the 6900 XT, the backlit Radeon logo on the card doesn’t have RGB lighting, so it only glows red. To be honest, it goes much in line with the rest of the aesthetics and looks classier too.

For display options, it comes with 3 DisplayPorts and 1 HDMI port, which is now the standard array of display connectors you’ll get in any GPU. But, what we want to know is the performance. And boy, does the RX 6800 XT perform well. Take a look at the benchmarks.

As you can see, the RX 6800 XT has no trouble running any kind of game, churning out frame after frame without a sweat. RX 6800 XT can easily hit 60+ FPS in any game at 1440p at High settings, no matter how resource-intensive it might be. Even in a game like Cyberpunk 2077, which is notorious for giving high-end rigs trouble, it can run it smoothly. And if it can handle a game like that, it’s needless to say that other games are a breeze. Not to mention that pairing the Ryzen 5600X and RX 6800 XT gives you the advantage of SAM (Smart Access Memory), an AMD tech that lets the CPU have unrestricted access to GPU memory, increasing the performance.

Add to the fact that AMD has now started offering ray tracing and the Fidelity FX Super-Resolution as well, it seems safe to assume that soon, the RX 6800 XT will be sitting at the top of most gamers’ charts for their next GPU. The only issue might be the steep price, but considering the feature set you get with it, that can be justified based on your use case.

If you’re looking for a good GPU to power your 1440p gaming rig, you needn’t look further, because the Radeon RX 6800 XT will cover all your needs for both gaming and content creation. Yes, getting your hands on it right at this moment might seem tough, but good things come to those who wait, after all.
