The Lords of the Fallen ‘Technical Showcase’ trailer : TechGoggles

Publisher CI Games and developer Hexworks released a new trailer for action RPG The Lords of the Fallen at Epic Games‘ “State of Unreal” presentation at Game Developers Conference 2023 showcasing the game’s technical achievements.

The video highlights the game’s intricate character customization options, providing a closer look at how Hexworks have combined 3D scans of real people with Unreal Engine 5 technology, allowing players to create a unique custom character. It also showcases how the team utilized Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen Global Illumination to light the game’s complex environments in real-time, and how the in-game mechanic of traveling between two worlds is possible thanks to the custom toolset Hexworks built within the engine.
