V Rising – Review
I’ve spent 154 hours in Vardoran’s realm so far, and where do I even begin?
It really portrays the image of an immortal vampire for me; your essence is evident from the moment you awaken in the crypts. You gorge yourself on mortals to get the advantages of their blood, whether it’s a worker to increase your gathering, a scholar to significantly improve your spellcasting, or a brute to enjoy the melee slaughter – you get the picture.
But, if a boss has ruined your day, or if the annoying sunshine has left your great undead ruler-to-be a little scorched, return to your vast castle. (Of course, some of you may want to live with wooden walls; to each their own.)
You could go on the hunt for good humans, scouring the streets for high-quality blood to bring back to your castle for your dark pleasures, whether it’s imprisoning them in your own personal wineyard or turning them into a vampire spawn/servant to roam your halls, guard your castle, or go on missions.
Not to mention the battle, which is by far the most intense I’ve ever experienced. Hunting down powerful V-bloods to advance through the various tech stages and unlock new abilities that will allow you to dramatically vary your playstyle.
There is so much more to say about the game and so many entertaining things to do, but I believe I have covered everything that needs to be covered.
Give it a shot if you’re still reading this review. It’s a unique take on the survival setting, and it’s taken up all of my free time.
I can’t wait for further information; even if this is merely the early access version, the final product will be spectacular. If you don’t think it’s worth the present price, keep an eye on the game’s updates; the game is already a bargain at that price.
