Campaign and Sandbox game types can be found on the main menu screen. I played a campaign that takes place across five worlds, each with seven levels. Before accessing world one, you must first complete the Tutorial, which covers the fundamentals of the game.

On each level, you’ll be given a limited quantity of parts with which to construct a construction that will aid you in completing the current level. You must utilise your freshly developed structure to destroy the red targets in other structures on the level in order to complete the level. The stages start out simple enough; you must stack hefty blocks on top of one another in such a way that they topple and smash the red objectives.

As you go, the targets will grow more difficult, but with each new level, you’ll gain access to new items that will aid you in completing the current level. Your goal could be close to you, surrounding you, or far away, and it could even be hidden behind other barriers. So you’ll have to pick what to build, and you’ll have to do some trial and error before you succeed.

You’ll be able to employ items like rockets to move your creation forward, or numerous rockets to shift directions, in addition to hefty blocks. You do this by turning the rockets on and off, which will hopefully send them in the direction you desire; but, this isn’t always as simple as it appears. When combined with rotators, hinges can be used to create chains, which can be utilised to destroy the structures that surround your position. Bombs can be used to generate explosions; build a trebuchet to fire them at your target. These are just a few of the components you’ll be able to use as the game progresses.

You can also use the destruction you cause to make your own GIF.

Abriss is a fun game, as is any game where you get to smash and blast things apart. It can be difficult, but that’s a good thing because it forces you to use your brain as you try to figure out what to do, especially if you want to complete each level completely.

The game does include achievements, despite the fact that it isn’t stated on the store page, but there is a minor issue with them. Normally, when you unlock an achievement, it is unlocked and time stamped right away. When you unlock achievements in Abriss, they are unlocked when you exit the game, not immediately. This isn’t a major issue. After all, an unlocked achievement is an unlocked achievement; the issue is that, despite the fact that you unlocked them at various periods, they are all time stamped at the same moment.

This makes it appear as if you used something to obtain your achievements, which may be frowned upon by certain people, despite the fact that you earned them honestly. It would be much better if the achievements unlocked as you progressed through the game rather than when you exited it.

The game is now in Early Access, so there may be some glitches here and there, but I haven’t had any issues with it thus far.
