Sony Interactive Entertainment will announce its long-rumored new game subscription service as early as next week, according to a Bloomberg report citing sources who wish to remain anonymous.

The service, said to be Sony Interactive Entertainment’s answer to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, will reportedly debut with “a splashy lineup of hit games from recent years.”

It will act as a combination of the existing PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus, allowing customers to choose from multiple tiers offering catalogs of modern games and classic games from older PlayStation eras, the report says.

According to documents obtained by Bloomberg in 2021, the most expensive tier will also give players access to extended demos and the ability to stream games online.

Unlike Xbox Game Pass, which features all of Microsoft’s new titles on the same day they release, Sony’s new service is not expected to offer the same.

Sony Interactive Entertainment did not immediately respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment.
