Almost 28 years later, Myst returns with significant visual upgrades quality of life features – and, to no one’s surprise, it still holds up. Myst was a phenomenon when it first released, and was the first game for many back then. Today, it’s a testament to long lasting game design philosophies, and how much can be done even with technical limitations. Of course, the remake does away with those limitations, and presents a visual spectacle that is well worth dipping back into.

You are on an island, and now need to solve various puzzles as you make your way through the majestic structure and unwieldy machines. There are plot beats spread throughout, but the main factor that’ll keep you going is curiosity.

Pros:
Looks awesome
Clever puzzles
Lots to explore

Cons:
Minor bugs

Score – 9/10
