At a glance you’ll see the similarities between Monster Harvest and another popular farming game. However, Monster Harvest manages to differentiate itself with some neat features that make the experience worth trying on it’s own. Monster Harvest is a farming and creature collection game, but there’s a twist – you plant seeds, which grow into planimals – so the creatures you’re collecting are grown by you. And then can be mutated and upgraded as per your needs.
These planimals then go on to help you in exploration, mingling with the residents, and even protecting against other enemies. While the combat is a bit limited, the overall gameplay options are fun to explore. Relationships could also be done better, but it is fun. There’s a lot to farm and grow, lots of mutations and combinations to try. The map itself is fun to explore, with a lot going on.
