King’s Bounty 2 – Spotlight
I have been playing King’s Bounty 2 for a few weeks now, and have come away both excited with the new changes and ideas, but also a bit disappointed that the sequel didn’t push further out in terms of scale and scope. For the uninitiated, King’s Bounty 2 is a turn based RPG where you play as a hero as he/she goes across the land gathering a team of warriors to defeat an evil force. Instead of fighting directly, it’s the team you gather that fights for you, so team composition, positioning, and knowing the enemy is a big factor.
With 3D exploration and a fairly large map to explore, the game does look pretty good. Villages, towns and cities, are more fun to explore and feel lively. Combat itself is presented nicely, and combat encounters are well done. They can be fairly challenging with a bit of a learning curve, but are fun to engage in. The story is not that big a focus, though you do meet interesting characters along the way.
